Our History & Impact

Chartered in 1940, the Danville Lions Club has been a vital force in our community for over eight decades. Our members, who are likely already your friends and neighbors, are deeply committed to service.

We actively work to build a brighter, more inclusive future by:

  • Organizing community events to raise funds for local and global charities.

  • Advocating for individuals with disabilities and special needs.

  • Providing essential services to those who need them most through fun, rewarding projects.

Our Values

  • Compassion and Empathy: Approaching volunteer work with genuine kindness to make a tangible, positive difference in the lives of vulnerable populations.

  • Integrity and Ethics: Valuing honesty, transparency, and high ethical standards. Lions are expected to demand fair remuneration in their own professions but never at the expense of their self-respect or by taking unfair advantage of others.

  • Community and Citizenship: Taking an active, hands-on interest in the civic, cultural, social, and moral welfare of their local communities.

  • Friendship and Fellowship: Building bonds between members. Lions hold that true friendship is an end in itself, demanding nothing but accepting service in the spirit it is given.

  • Inclusion and Global Understanding: Fostering a spirit of understanding among all people. With clubs in over 200 countries, Lions believe that diverse perspectives make their service stronger and actively encourage peace and international cooperation.

  • Altruism: Encouraging service-minded individuals to serve their community without personal financial reward.
